The Green Street Memorial Band leads the Founder's Day Jane and Leland Stanford memorial procession at Stanford University  in April 2007. The band has been chosen for this honor every Founders' Celebration Day since 2002.

In March 2007, Lisa Pollard was a featured player at the Lucca Jazz Festival, Lucca, Italy. I

In 2006, the John Copolla All Stars Big Band played a musical tribute to Ellington and Basie at Stanford University's Jazz Festival. (Click the image to hear the beginning of Ellington's Rockin' in Rhythm. Thanks, You Tube!)

The Green Street Dixieland Band entertained the crowds at John's Grill with their famous Dixieland music for "FAT TUESDAY IN THE BAY AREA", October 11, 2005. The event raised over $50,000 for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.


In 2005, Lisa Pollard and John Coppola returned to Germany for a glorious reunion with The Wodka Lemon Gang. The group played nightclubs, beer gardens and rathskellers throughout the country.

Michael Tilson Thomas' 60th birthday party wish for "...something VERY San Francisco" featured the Green Street Band as the "only in San Francisco" entertainment provided for him and his guests. See the cake and read the Chronicle story here.

Lisa Pollard (playing the soprano saxophone) and the John Coppola-Lisa Pollard Jazz All-Stars had the honor of playing for the dinner guests of "Francis Cooks for North Beach", Francis Ford Coppola's fundraiser for the homeless in December 2001. For the March 2004 event, FFC himself conducted the Green Street Mortuary Band in a rousing "Stars and Stripes Forever!
The Green Street Band was the band of choice for Francis Ford Coppola's ceremonial lighting of his Sentinel Building, headquarters of the Zoetrope Studios. The distinctive North Beach landmark building was lit for the first time on Thursday evening, June 27, 2002.

I In 2001,  Lisa Pollard toured Germany and Romania with John Coppola and The Wodka Lemon Gang, a German jazz group. The group was honored with a proclamation applauding their humanitarian efforts in bringing "the joy of music" and much needed funding for the orphanage. in the town of Iash, Romania.
